I have to tell you, I care more about my dogs than I do most people. The cop that shoots my dog is going to wind up with a load of 00 Buck to the face.
And if a cop told me to "calm down, I can always get a new dog", he would get a load of 00 Buck to the nuts first, and then the face. What an asshole.

An Adams County man is in shock after he says deputies shot and killed his dog.
Jeff Fisher said deputies went to his house by mistake. He said when they forced their way through the door his dog Ziggy ran outside and an Adams County Sheriff’s deputy shot and killed him.
“(He went to the door) to see who it was and the police officer shot him three times,” Fisher said. “They killed my dog for no reason.”
Fisher said Ziggy was his best friend and can’t believe he’s gone.
“I called the dog, he turned to come back to me and the police officer opened fire,” said Fisher.
Ziggy was an 8-year-old Blue Healer/Border Collie mix.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the address on reports of a business alarm going off.
A spokesman said he can’t say more until the investigation is complete but did release this statement, “It’s our goal at the Adams County Sheriff’s Office to complete a thorough investigation of this incident, be able to answer any questions that people who have concerns about this incident may have and to do right for the owner of this dog.”
Fisher said he wants that deputy to be held accountable.
“I’m on the ground crying hysterically and the police officer says, ‘You need to calm down, you can get a new dog,’” said Fisher.

Anyone out there who considers him/herself an OathKeeper, you had better take care of your co-workers who act in this fashion before we get to them, or we will consider that you really aren't interested in keeping your oath.
This is a former peace officer (San Diego/CHP/ and two small town departments) speaking. I promise you, I _will_ take out anyone that meets the same criteria as this cop that thinks killing someone's dog is acceptable. Be further advised I will do my best to give that cop enough time to experience some of the pain he has caused others before he dies.
Or I might allow him to "live" after taking a Hexolit 32 fragmenting 12 ga round to the groin. It will be sure to make him a paraplegic for however long he lasts before he feeds himself his gun.

RegT, we are on the same page. Dog-shooting cops are lowest of the low, especially when the Pooch isn't hurting anyone. Shot to the nuts, then a shot to the brain housing group...
DeleteI became aware of this problem we have with law enforcement when the NYC cop shot the homeless man's dog in the street. Since then, I have found that 250K dogs are shot by cops. The videos are all over the net and on my blog. They will come on to your property if your dog is just sitting, kill it and return to wash the blood away and drag the dog into the grass. Didn't know there was a surveillance camera on him - the Rottie did nothing wrong.
DeleteAlways be aware - check and doublecheck that your dog is secure and sue their asses personally. They are shooting dogs in your HOME, in your yard, in the street with people around. There's an attorney whose golden retriever was shot in south Florida who has taken up the cause. I send all these to HSUS, ASPCA, In Defense of Animals (IDA), PETA and WSPA and sooner or later, family pets will be elevated to family member status. Then we charge the bastards with murder.

DeleteGlad to here someone is doing something about this, but if I catch them in the act - or immediately afterwards - they are going down. That kind of scum doesn't deserve to live, and I am old enough I won't mind spending what's left of my life behind bars (if I don't go down via another cop or two at the scene). I imagine you might even enjoy celebrity status" inside if you have taken care of one of these SOBs.
