How is it, exactly, that celebrities who have made lots and lots of money off of gun movies can preach about gun control? How does that work? How do these fucking pricks have any credibility at all on the subject?
Oh, and how many of them are protected by people with guns?

Time to think about the garden...
From

It's almost January, just one more day. There is a little bit of snow on the ground and it's freezing cold outside. It seems like Spring is a lifetime away.
In spite of all that, we are already talking about and making plans for our garden this spring. This is the time of year we start to get the seed catalogs.
I am also starting to do a little research on medicinal plants. Not just herbs, but also flowers and trees. I'm talking about stuff like chamomile and chicory.
In spite of all that, we are already talking about and making plans for our garden this spring. This is the time of year we start to get the seed catalogs.
I am also starting to do a little research on medicinal plants. Not just herbs, but also flowers and trees. I'm talking about stuff like chamomile and chicory.
Chamomile is said to have anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, and sedative properties. It is used regularly as a sleep aid.
Chicory used as a folk medicine in Germany, is recorded in many books as an ancient German treatment for everyday ailments. It is variously used as a tonic and as a treatment for gallstones, gastro-enteritis, sinus problems and cuts and bruises.
These are just two of many, many plants that have been used for years as treatments for common illness and ailments. Some of these added to the landscape could come in handy.
As I get rid of the bothersome trees on my property, like the hedge and thorny locust, I am replacing them with others that are more useful. Willow, Apple, Plum, Elm, Cherry and Peach are all examples of what I am planting to fill in.
We are planning to add a few more raised beds to the garden this year. It's not that we want to plant more variety, just more of what we like. We also want to try more companion gardening and the extra space will help with that.
We are also considering building a coop and getting a few chickens this spring.
What have you got in mind for the spring? A garden? Flower beds? Livestock?

Facebook bans Gandhi quote as part of revisionist history purge

I don't have a facebook account. Don't want it. Don't need it. And stuff like this continues to remind me of why I don't care about facebook or any of the other social media outlets.
This blog is about as social as I'm going to get on the innerwebz.
facebook can do whatever they want I guess. If they feel that the 1st Amendment doesn't apply in their little world, maybe they can delete your stuff. But, you know, it just doesn't seem right to me. I guess I don't really have to worry much about it though, since I have no account with them.
Do you still have a facebook account? If so, does it matter to you that they have no regard for your Constitutional Rights? I'm not accusing, just asking...
by Mike Adams - Natural News
The reports are absolutely true. Facebook suspended the Natural News account earlier today after we posted an historical quote from Mohandas Gandhi. The quote reads:
"Among the many misdeeds of British rule in India, history will look upon the Act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest." - Mohandas Gandhi, an Autobiography, page 446.
This historical quote was apparently too much for Facebook's censors to bear. They suspended our account and gave us a "final warning" that one more violation of their so-called "community guidelines" would result in our account being permanently deactivated.
They then demanded we send them a color copy of a "government issued identification" in order to reactivate our account. Our account was removed from suspension just minutes before InfoWars posted its article on this Facebook censorship, and the Facebook page is now functioning at: www.Facebook.com/NaturalNews

Rip off prices continue...
From

On the boycott cheaper than dirt post, someone pointed out that those scumbags are now selling 1000 rounds of 5.56 green tip ammo for $1000 bucks. Lower than dirt continues to prove they are unworthy of the business they are still getting.
And it's not just them. I emailed cdnn and told them to remove me from their mailing list. They were doing the very same thing. Magazines were at least triple the price that they were a month ago. And a rifle that I was considering purchasing from them went up over $400 overnight.
I also frequent a regional gun sales website called Midwest Gun Trader. The price gouging going on there is no fault of theirs. They merely put buyers and sellers together. But there isn't a single AR style rifle for under $1,000 bucks and many of them are over $2,000.
What a bunch of bullshit. Don't get me wrong. I think capitalism is a wonderful thing, but this is going way past that. People are taking advantage of an uncertain situation.
In the case of lower than dirt and cdnn, we have the ability as consumers to send these people a message. Refusing to buy from businesses who are taking advantage of us will let them know we don't appreciate the treatment. I will never buy from either one of them again. The current situation will calm down and everything will start to normalize before long, but I won't forget that Brownell's and J&G Sales were good guys in this time of crisis. And I will remember the other side of this too...

We are Preparing for Massive Civil War, Says DHS Informant
From

I know this video is long, but it is worth watching. We hear little snippets all the time about martial law, dhs thuggery, the government having the ability to kill citizens, on and on. But they are only snippets. Watch this video and see how often and how many news agencies are talking about these things. It's real and it's pretty damn scary. The government doesn't give a damn about us and it gets worse everyday.
We are becoming the saddam hussein regime. We are allowing our government to do the very same things we despised from evil dictators all over the world. It's getting worse and we are letting it happen.
Watch the video. Take the time. It will get your attention...

This is straight from her website. I don't know how much of a chance she has of getting this passed, but then I didn't think that dickhead obama had any chance of getting re-elected, so what do I know.
This is some hard core rules and regulations. Does she REALLY think they can make us register existing weapons? And that we will willingly give up some fingerprints? So, is the atf going to go house to house and ask to see weapons? I guess I don't see how this whole thing is supposed to work. Do you think thugs and criminals are going to register their illegally owned weapons? Of course not, this isn't about those people. It's about punishing anyone stupid enough to admit they own a firearm.
Besides, I don't recall the 2nd Amendment saying that my right to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED, unless the government won't let me have them.
I don't think this is going to go like she thinks it will...

Posting of gun owners names...
From
BillyBob
at
7:42 PM
Earlier today RegT posted about a "news organization" publishing the names and addresses of gun owners in new york.
Bear this in mind, those gun owners are law abiding citizens. They own their firearms legally. They have broken no laws in the purchase or ownership of them.
But now, because of this "news organization" these law abiding gun owners will be targeted. How is this legal? How is this right? It's not right. It's legal for them to publish these names and addresses, but it isn't right.
It would be different if these gun owners were criminals, like the sexual predators lists that many people have access to. But that isn't the case. These people, despite being law abiding citizens, have been outed by this "news organization" as if they were common criminals to be feared or shunned in their community.
Legal or not, this is so wrong...

A Town in Colorado does it the Israeli way
From

I just read an article by Michelle Malkin, the very attractive and exceedingly bright conservative journalist known to most of us in the conservative camp. She wrote an article on steps parents can take to make their children safer from becoming victims of a school shooter.
One of the steps listed the town of Westcliffe in Colorado, which uses armed volunteers to patrol their schools. The group was started by their Sheriff, and is called the Sheriff's Posse. This is similar to what is done on a number of kibbutzes in Israel, where armed parents, grandparents, and other concerned members of the kibbutz patrol the schools while armed with firearms. There has not been a school attack since 1974 in Israel, since they began arming their teachers, school staff, and volunteers. Let me repeat that: no school attacks in Israel for the last thirty-eight (38) years. Here is the step written by Michelle:

2. Prepare and protect your community. Joe Cascarelli of Westcliffe, Colo., wrote me about how he and other citizens took their children's safety into their own hands. "It was 10 years ago that our sheriff put an ad in the local paper to initiate the formation of the Sheriff's Posse. About 40 of us volunteered; today we have about 20 active Posse members. Eight years ago, the Posse command staff offered to provide the local school district with daily security patrols when the school was in session, at school athletic events and during school dances including the annual prom." Law enforcement conducted emergency drills, training to prepare for mass shootings and joint sessions with first responders.
"The Posse has continued its patrols at school events and during the school day. Posse patrols have become a visible, accepted part of our community," Cascarelli told me. "Anyone intent on harm would see armed uniformed personnel at the school daily. The Posse even has an Amber Alert at the local rodeo. When an atrocity like Columbine, Virginia Tech and most recently in Newtown, Conn., happens, all we hear is carefully crafted words of grief, heartrending interviews with parents, and TV's talking heads with knee-jerk 'solutions.' Well, our little community has implemented a local solution. Trained, armed volunteers daily protect our children. What is the matter with the rest of the country? Where are concerned parents and citizens willing to carve out some time to provide similar security?"

TL Davis, of TL Davis in Exile, has posted a response to the fact that "fellow travelers's/useful idiots" of the Marxist stripe in the media have decided to aid the gun control movement, and are advancing that agenda. Breitbart and Instapundit have published lists of the addresses and other info of the owner and employees of the newspaper in question, the Journal News.
Evidently, the Journal News has decided to publish the names of all handgun permit holders in two or three counties near New York City (although I'd be willing to bet they left out the info on any of the newspaper's employees).
Christopher Fountain, at the blog For What It's Worth, has listed the names and addresses of many of the employees at the Journal News, including a photo of the owner, Janet Hasson, of Mamaroneck, NY.
The fools on the Left seem incapable of understanding the concept of Unintended Consequences. One unintended consequence may be the terror felt by any ladies whose names and addresses were listed as permit holders who were trying to hide from abusive spouses, stalkers, or anyone who might threaten their lives or their children's safety. Another could be the possibility that any dirt-bag who wants to acquire a firearm now knows thousands of addresses where he could be assured of finding one, if he is willing to put in a little time casing the homes to see when their owners are not at home, or might be on vacation.
Another - and hopefully realized - unintended consequence could be what irate permit holders might decide to visit upon the owner and employees of the Journal News for putting them at risk by publicizing their names and addresses. Perhaps a midnight application of brick or rock vs living room picture window? Or a week-long collection of dog waste that could be utilized in the same fashion? Or, more appropriately, simply advising the world via the Internet when that home will be unoccupied during the vacation time of it's owner, such that any of the FSA who wishes to stop by for a little midnight shopping can do so?
It would be lovely if someone local to these people could return the favor, as it were. This female (I cannot properly refer to her as a lady) being the owner, I believe she would be a good place to start:

Ron Paul rips NRA plan for officers in every school
From
BillyBob
at

While armed guards are good enough for the school obama sends his children to, the school employs 11 armed guards, Ron Paul makes some excellent points.
I don't know one single person that has anything good to say about the tsa. A bunch of perverted thugs on a power trip is about as nice as most people are willing to be.
Is that something we want in our schools? Do we want to subject our children to that type of culture at such an impressionable time in their lives? We are already allowing those schools to brainwash our our children with rewritten history and hardcore liberal teachers. Do we really want them to think that armed guards asking for your papers is normal for a free society?
I bought in to the whole armed guard thing when Wayne LaPierre brought it up. I think a lot of us were looking for an answer to this situation that didn't involve the government taking away our 2nd Amendment freedoms. Either way our rights are sacrificed. Either we allow them to take our guns or we allow them to take our dignity. We have already given up dignity to board an airplane.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety - Ben Franklin
From FoxNews
Retiring Republican Rep. Ron Paul pushed back Monday against the National Rifle Association's call for installing armed officers in every school, warning that the move could create a TSA-style maze of checkpoints and surveillance cameras -- with limited effect.
"School shootings, no matter how horrific, do not justify creating an Orwellian surveillance state in America," Paul said in a written statement.
The congressman, among the most libertarian-leaning on the Hill, is the first Republican in Congress to forcefully oppose the NRA's proposal. NRA head Wayne LaPierre on Friday urged federal funding to overhaul America's school security, a plan that would include posting a guard in every school.
LaPierre argued that, in the wake of the Connecticut mass murders, it only makes sense to protect students the same way the country protects banks and elected leaders -- with armed security.
"The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun," he said.
But Paul -- who said he agrees that "more guns equals less crime" and "private gun ownership prevents many shootings" -- nevertheless chided the NRA for its plan, describing it as a government solution that could infringe on liberty.
"Do we really want to live in a world of police checkpoints, surveillance cameras, metal detectors, X-ray scanners and warrantless physical searches? We see this culture in our airports: witness the shabby spectacle of once proud, happy Americans shuffling through long lines while uniformed TSA agents bark orders. This is the world of government provided 'security,' a world far too many Americans now seem to accept or even endorse," Paul said.
Paul, during his more than two decades in Congress and three presidential runs, has earned a reputation for going against the grain of his party. He has been famously anti-defense spending and anti-anything that smacks of too much government.
While chastising Democrats for their renewed calls for gun control, he claimed the call for more school officers is in the same vein.
"Predictably, the political left responded to the tragedy with emotional calls for increased gun control. This is understandable, but misguided. The impulse to have government 'do something' to protect us in the wake national tragedies is reflexive and often well intentioned," Paul said. "The political right, unfortunately, has fallen into the same trap in its calls for quick legislative solutions to gun violence. If only we put armed police or armed teachers in schools, we're told, would-be school shooters will be dissuaded or stopped."
He continued: "I don't agree that conservatives and libertarians should view government legislation, especially at the federal level, as the solution to violence. Real change can happen only when we commit ourselves to rebuilding civil society in America, meaning a society based on family, religion, civic and social institutions, and peaceful cooperation through markets."

I think I told you guys a couple weeks ago about finding some .20 caliber pellets on clearance from Academy. I finally got them in. I sure wouldn't mind finding another 2500 of them for a decent price. About everywhere I look is out of stock on these things now. There are some other .20 caliber ones available that I might try out, but they cost three time what I gave for these.

I know, that's not the Christmas spirit, but all the buildup, I don't know. I guess I'm getting more and more grouchy as the years go by.
But! Let's enjoy the rest of the evening and to start that off here are some Santa Babes!!!!
