I don't know what to title this one...

I'm so proud...

Some of you already know this, but for those that don't, I have collected a few old Chevy truck type vehicles. I have a 1968 3/4 Ton LWB Fleetside Pickup, a 1969 Blazer and a 1972 Suburban. I don't have near the time I would like to have to tinker with them, but they will be here if I ever get the time.

But, anyway, the point of this is to tell how proud I am of my Little One. She is 14 and will be 15 in a couple of months and will then be eligible to get her learner's permit. She told me that she wanted my '68 truck to be her first vehicle. When I told her that I would consider that, but she would have to help me work on it, she was actually excited and said she would like that.

How awesome is that? It's a whole new kind of motivation for me to get some things done.

It's funny, my 18 year old has no interest in driving. none. nada. zip.

Her permit is expired and she hasn't even hinted at getting it renewed. I think my Bride may have scared the shit out of her on one of her first driving experiences. I have taken her a few times, but almost had to make her go. If she doesn't want to drive, while that is completely foreign to me, I will respect it.

My Little One is pumped. She is the one more like me, ready to hit the open road. Freedom. Yep.

Small Business Wasn’t Crying Wolf Re: Obamacare

When I was a little girl, my mom took me to see an old, dilapidated building in a small, rural town in Southern Missouri. We walked around the building and peeked in the windows in what was once a furniture manufacturing plant. There were machines and pieces of partially built furniture sitting around as if the employees had all just left for the day. I was intrigued by the scene, but also curious as to why mom had brought me to this place.

Mom explained the business had once been owned by her family. The bustling little company employed about 20 people who, unlike many of their neighbors, had good jobs. Then a union organizer came into town and tried to organize the workers. My Uncle met with the employees and explained that it was their right to unionize, but he told them if that was their choice the plant would close down.

The employees didn’t take my Uncle seriously and instead voted to join the union. The morning after the vote the employees arrived to find the building padlocked, and the company never reopened for business. If only the employees had listened to my Uncle, who knows how that little business may have grown. But my mother explained it was too expensive and difficult to deal with the union, and they didn’t have any choice but to shut down the operation.

Now that the election is over, I find myself asking: “Why don’t people listen?” As reports of lay-offs by businesses bracing themselves for the costs of Obamacare hit the news, some political pundits are spinning it as a political vendetta.

Come on folks. You were told this would happen. You chose not to listen.

American small businesses have suffered enough in this current economy, and now you’ve dealt them the death knell. You made your choice and now you want to call these business owners unAmerican. This isn’t political, it’s business survival.

Twenty-three million Americans are unemployed or under-employed in this country, and now more job cuts are on the horizon. Job cuts that could have been avoided. Small business have historically been the job creators in the United States, but not this time. The burdensome costs of Obamacare coupled with the certainty of tax increases is going to stifle this economy more than we’ve seen in the past several years.

Fear is how I would describe the current mood of small business owners. One contractor I spoke to said he was ready to close the doors and move to Canada. A restaurant owner told me she won’t be expanding anytime soon. I guess the one bright side is the President won’t have to worry about access to capital for small firms, because business owners won’t be needing capital for growth.

Small business owners weren’t crying wolf when they expressed their outrage toward Obamacare. But America has voted, and that’s what makes this country great. We all have a voice and the freedom of choice. However, don’t be surprised if you show up to work one day and the business owner has padlocked the door. And remember, it’s not just your job that’s lost, it’s his livelihood too.

Sessions: Reid 'abused power of the majority' to a 'degree never, ever done before'

I think Sen. Sessions is right about harry reid being a manipulative, power abusing scumbag. Well, those may not be his exact words, but I get the point. I also agree that the republicans have totally screwed the pooch by allowing democrats to conduct all these deals in private. You know, they can come out of there and say what ever they want. Who's to say anything different? The republicans sure don't seem to be able to stand up for themselves in any kind of organized manner.

It's really kind of amazing how an administration and a congress that made such a big deal out of transparency can be so secretive and underhanded. It almost makes me doubt their sincerity...

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) on Wednesday accused Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) of "manipulating the rules" and "abus[ing] the power of the majority" in a blistering critique of the top Democrat's handling of the "fiscal cliff" negotiations.

“It is very difficult ... the way Harry Reid is manipulating the rules for us to get anything up to a vote," Sessions told radio host Laura Ingraham

Sessions went on to accuse Reid of "undermining the whole historic role of the Senate."

The Alabama lawmaker said the upper chamber "should be where these great issues of finance and debt should be the No. 1 issue before the American people. It should be voted on in the Senate regularly, debated and discussed.”

But Sessions also reserved some criticism for fellow Republicans, who he argued had been too secretive about their role in deficit and tax negotiations.

"I believe the fundamental problem the Republicans have exasperated here is allowing these negotiations to go on in secret. ... [T]he American people have no idea what’s going to be agreed to," Sessions said.

The three-term senator said that conducting the negotiations in private likely benefited the Democrats, because it allowed President Obama to shape the terms of the debate.

"It hasn’t been publicly debated ... [and] this lack of clarity I think contributed to the ability of the president to be successful in this election," Sessions said.

Take a good look around...

Stop for a minute. Look around. Really look. Can you see it? Can you feel the tension in the air? Right underneath the surface is that sound like a rubber band being stretched just a little too far. It's subtle and if you aren't paying attention you might miss it.

Something is happening in this Country and most of us aren't going to like it. There are all these little hints about upcoming gun bans and tax hikes and regulations for this and that. All the talk of the fiscal cliff and unfunded liabilities. On and on. Do you know that our national debt is working on SEVENTEEN TRILLION DOLLARS? Yep, that's TRILLION with a T.

Do you know that there is at least that much more debt that isn't even talked about in un or under funded federal pensions, social security shotfalls and medicare? We are on a path that ends in disaster no matter what these government stooges do with taxes. If they took every penny from all 330 million of us it wouldn't even make a dent. Every single one of the members of congress knows this. But still, they refuse to address the real issues. This is not sustainable. It isn't. No matter what, this house of cards is going to come tumbling down. And it won't be long now.

Are you doing anything to get ready for what's to come?

I've faced most of the fears in my life and come out the other side. So anymore, not much bothers me. But the one thing that keeps me awake some nights is the fear that when my family needs me most, I won't be prepared. It scares me more and more as I see the Country I love with all my heart headed toward a train wreck like we have never seen before. There are lots of people that feel exactly like I do. I try to do something everyday that lessens that fear. Even something as simple as thinking through a plan, checking it for flaws, is progress. I'm not a rich guy. I can't order up 5 years worth of freeze dried gourmet meals. Hell, I can't order up 6 months of the stuff. But every time we go to the grocery store, we pick up a little extra. Every time we empty a gallon jug it is washed and filled with water. We practice our shooting skills. We practice our fire making skills. Practice, practice, practice. I read constantly. I study up on skills I want to learn. I search for skills I might need but aren't aware of. And I always try to teach my Children about the Country our Founding Fathers wanted for us.

I know my girls probably get tired of hearing me preach about stuff. I don't blame them. If I were 18 or 14 again I would much rather be doing something else. But I'm hoping the skills they have acquired will help them in any situation, good or bad.

Ok, I'm starting to ramble. My point is this, if you haven't started preparing for a disaster, you should. If have started, where are you? Is it where you need to be?

It is your OBLIGATION to take care of your family. If you think when the next earthquake or tornado hits, the government will take care of you and yours, think again. Ask the people in the North East. Ask the people of the Gulf Coast. They will tell you how it really is. You will find out very fast that you are on your own. And then... it's too late to get ready, to prepare. Proactive, really, be it...

Watch the entire susan rice episode while the real facts slowly fade from memory. Forget all about the fact that obama and hillary clinton sentenced FOUR AMERICANS TO DEATH in their absolute refusal to provide aid before the attack, when it was asked for, or during the attack when it was begged for.

So, today during his cabinet meeting, obama praised susan rice on the job she has been doing. And well he should, the idiot republicans have focused on her like a laser and completely forgotten the real scumbags in this coverup.

The fall guys for obama are really starting to stack up. Please, please, won't one of them come clean and tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth?

I'm absolutely stunned at how much obama gets away with in plain sight. Holy shit. It's like some kind of bad dream. Am I the only one that can see how crooked this fucking guy is? Has the entire world gone crazy? He does whatever he wants, whenever he wants and no one says a damn thing. Congress just rolls over and plays dead.

The list of offenses just grows and grows with no end in sight. How can this be possible? Maybe all the conspiracy folks have been right all along. I just don't get it...

Same old crap...

I've got very little interest in the news this week. It's all the same old crap. And every where I look or listen they are talking about how the republicans are caving in on the no tax pledge.

It's funny, the republicans are willing to break the pledge they have made with the people that elected them in order to reach a compromise, yet the democrats refuse to give an inch.

The republicans are going to pay for their treachery if taxes are raised, count on it. It really bothers me that they are so ready and willing to bend on their values. If it is that easy, they probably weren't values to begin with, more like campaign promises instead.

I also remember what happened the last time the republicans were willing to sacrifice. They said we will give you this and this but we ask for that in return. obama said sure, no problem, but I get mine first. And then he stiffed them. republicans are kind of dumb. They will keep falling for obama's lies every stinking time. What a bunch of morons. But, I guess, we the people are the bigger morons because we keep re-electing these clowns.

I know, I know, I'm in a pretty shitty mood today. Sorry. I don't mean to take it out on you. I would go take it out on my dog, but him being a 130 pound Rotweiller, he would probably eat my face off or at least bite the hell out of me.

Oh well, maybe I will just take a nap...

Hitler Youth in action

Let me preface this with the fact that I was raised as a "mackerel snapper", a Roman Catholic, as my Canadian French forebears were all Catholics. I left the church at fourteen, deciding that it just wasn't for me.

Now I do not blame any of you Catholics who might read this for who your Pope is, as you had nothing to do with choosing him, and probably wouldn't have if you had been asked. But, the fact remains that this German individual was a member of the Hitler Youth as a child. It tells in his behavior, and in the fact that he supports the muslims in their desire to rid the world of Jews.

He recently hosted a meeting including the top leadership of Hizballah, as well as the Maronite Catholic Patriarch, all of whom openly seek the death and destruction of Jews. It is argued, in this article and elsewhere, that the Maronite Patriarch is simply agreeing with the muslims in order to keep from being killed or persecuted by the muslims, since he lives in Lebanon, but the Roman Catholic Church has a long history of men and women of principle, who went to their deaths doing what they knew was right.  This Patriarch could simply be silent, instead of agreeing, and it would show more guts and honor than trying to cover his ass in this fashion. Unless he actually does agree with the muslims - which would be my guess. After all, the Pope himself agrees with them.

Read the article, and understand that "COEXIST" is such a bald-faced lie that it amazes me anyone can speak of it without either throwing up or falling on the floor laughing.

Bit and Pieces This Evening...

Some of the headlines this evening...

Some guy was jailed 4 days for recording the cops. This is starting to get kind of stupid. It is perfectly legal to film the police. But, you know, when they lock your ass up for it anyway, it sure doesn't seem legal. Cops abusing their power is getting to be a too common occurrence these days. You know, if cops weren't smacking people around at every opportunity, people wouldn't be so interested in filming them.

A company fires 150 employees for not getting a flu shot? WTF? So wait, we don't have any control over what is injected into our bodies any more? How is that possible? How is that shit even legal? Oh, probably the same way it's legal for the federal government to fine you FOR NOT BUYING INSURANCE. It's a bunch of bullshit. How long are we going to stand by and be taken advantage of? How long people?

A school district is making students wear microchips to track their movements? Right. If was where my children attend school, the superintendent and I would be having several conversations. And none of them after the first one would be nice. Sure, I would probably wind up having to pull my girls out of school, but this tracking bullshit, that doesn't work for me. These types of abuses are happening every day.

Woman detained for riding manatee. Ok, this one I'm ok with. This chick had no business messing with the animal. The cops should have just lit her up with a tazer and left her on the beach. She would have gotten the point.

The un eyes control of the internet? Wow. This is some bullshit. The un should be disbanded and all the diplomats sent back to their own countries to get real jobs. What a bunch of busy body scumbags...
