Another slap in the face by the supreme court...

The supreme court today, also struck down the "stolen valor act". Maybe you remember the dickhead who was telling people he was a former Marine and also a CONGRESSIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR recipient. He was tried and convicted and then his lawyers took it all the way to the supreme court.

They ruled that the guy has the freedom of speech to say what ever dumbass thing he wants.

So I guess I can start telling people that I was a 5 star general and commander of the pacific forces and not get in trouble?

Only a sick, twisted piece of shit would lie about Military service. And only a fucking idiot, sick, twisted piece of shit would claim to have earned the CMH.

People who earn the CMH usually don't live to tell the tale. It takes some heavy duty heroics to warrant that award. And anyone who lies about it, should then be given, involuntarily, the opportunity to earn it. Maybe dropped into the nastiest part of afghanistan with a pocket knife and a sheep costume...

The supreme court fucked this up bad. Real bad...

  1. Then they should rule the same way for anyone who claims to be an FBI agent, or police officer, or a member of Congress. I know you can be charged with a felony for impersonating a Federal officer, although I'm not sure about the others. I seem to recall it used to be a felony to impersonate a police officer in California when I was a peace officer many years ago.

  2. That's an excellent point. But if you fake a CMH, that should be a firing squad offense. It's bullshit.
